When the tip of the indenter breaks or you wish to replace the indenter with a different type, perform the following procedure.

1. Turn OFF the power supply.

  

2. Lower the front cover slightly, and remove it carefully so that the front cover does not touch the indenter.

  

3. Move the table toward the indenter. Spread a cushion material such as sponge on the stage to protect the tip of the indenter if it drops.
4. Loosen the screw in the hole at the front of the indenter holder case by turning the screw counterclockwise with a slotted screwdriver. At this time, hold the indenter holder case with your left hand so that the holder case does not move.

  

5. Pull the attached indenter slowly downward, and attach a new indenter.
  The indenter has a plane surface on its shaft. Position this surface at the front, and insert the indenter upward until it touches the end.

  Tighten the screw described in Step 4. by turning it clockwise.
6. The fixation of the load unit is loosed, and an upper cover is attached.

 

This completes the indenter replacement procedure. However, position adjustment, balance adjustment and height adjustment may be required.
