(AA) GFA, Mounting the Graphite Cap and Holder

(AA) Mounting the Graphite Cap and Holder (GFA-7800/7000)
Category :

Answer

1. Mount the graphite cap.
2. Press the release lever to release the lock of the furnace and open the right-hand cooling block fully to the right.
3. Insert the graphite cap into the left-hand cooling block from the furnace inner side so that the sample injection hole may come upside. At this time, adjust the position so that the pin in the cooling block fits in the notch of the graphite cap.
4. Check that there is no gap between the graphite cap and cooling block.
5. Next, mount the graphite holder.
6. While holding the right-hand cooling block so that it may not move, insert the graphite holder in the furnace from the furnace inner side in the same way as that for graphite cap. The graphite holder has no particular orientation like the graphite cap.
7. Check that there is no gap between the graphite holder and cooling block.
8. Mount the seal to the graphite holder.

If the fit is too tight and the graphite cap and graphite holder are difficult to insert into the cooling block, mount them according to the following procedure.
1. Polish the cylindrical surfaces of the graphite cap and graphite holder (the parts for insertion into the cooling block) using clean paper cloth.
2. Mount the graphite cap and graphite holder.
If the graphite cap and graphite holder cannot be mounted even after performing the above procedure, use the provided electrode set/release tool (Parts nummber: 206-51014-91) to mount them.

1. Remove the window plate sockets.
2. Mount the graphite cap.
3. Attach the electrode set/release tool to the left-hand cooling block.
  The spacer is not used.

4. While holding the cup with your left hand, turn the handle in the clockwise direction with your right hand.
Make sure that the orientation of the graphite cap does not change.
5. Once the flange of the graphite cap has reached the cooling block, remove the electrode set/release tool from the furnace.
6. Mount the graphite holder.
7. Attach the electrode set/release tool to the right-hand cooling block.
  The spacer is not used.

8. While holding the cup with your right hand, turn the handle in the clockwise direction with your left hand.
9. Once the flange of the graphite holder has reached the cooling block, remove the electrode set/release tool from the furnace.
