How to check for DL problems (LCMS)

How to check for DL problems (LCMS)
Category :

Answer

Contamination inside the DL tube will cause deterioration of solvent removal (ionization) or decrease in ion transmittance. When there is a blockage in the DL tube, overall sensitivity will deteriorate.
Note that even when there is no blockage, there might be deterioration of sensitivity in some components.

«Confirmation»
PG value (degree of vacuum) will indicate contamination and blockage of DL pipe. Confirm the PG value in the Instrument monitor. If blockage of DL occurs, PG value will be lower. (In the default setting, when the PG value is less than 70 Pa, a warning message will display). Note that even when the PG value is normal, there might be decrease in sensitivity.

«Corrective Actions»
Replace the DL when abnormality is found.
The light contamination or blockage can be recovered by passing liquid to the pipe or by cleaning using a syringe or the like.
