Answer
1. Wipe off soiling.
Moisten gauze with a solvent that can remove soiling (such as water/methanol) and wipe the soiling off with the gauze.
Clean the locations indicated below.
• Sampling cone
• Heated block
• Heater flange
• Inside wall of the ionization unit
• Tip of the ionization unit

CAUTION: Before wiping the tip of the ESI unit, be sure to adjust the projection length of the ESI capillary to less than 0 mm.
If the ESI capillary projects at all, the tip of the capillary may stick into your fingers during the work.
Contact with fingers may also reduce sensitivity.

NOTE: Do not clean the tip of the DL since this can cause blockage of the tubing. If the tip of the DL is badly soiled, replace the DL.
