Daily Maintenance (LCMS)

Daily Maintenance (LCMS)
Category :

Answer

To suppress contamination or blockage of the ionization unit or interface as much as possible, a daily management of the instrument is required. The following describes the management and maintenance of the instrument after use.

1. Ensure that no sample remains inside the ESI probe
There is a possibility that the sample and eluted substance by the gradient remain in the ESI nozzle, ESI PEEK tube or ESI capillary ASSY in the ESI probe. If it is left with the sample and eluted substance remaining, precipitation or blockage will occur in each section due to drying of liquid, or ESI spray state will be deteriorated.

2. Preventing contamination inside MS by thoroughly using DL plug
When performing a daily shutdown, make sure to insert a DL plug to prevent atmospheric gas from flowing into the DL and the lens system. When the DL is opened to atmosphere, atmospheric gas around the DL is always sucked in because the inside of the MS is in a high vacuum state. The oil mist or gas from the waste liquid remaining around the DL will lead to contamination of the DL or the lens system.
