(EDX) Negative quantitative value display in quantitative analysis

I am performing a quantitative analysis with the calibration curve method.
A negative quantitative value occasionally occurs (e.g.: Cd: -2.6ppm).
What does a negative concentration mean?

Answer

At 0ppm, the variance in X-ray intensity will be a negative value if it is below the average intensity. 
A negative value is treated as a quantitative value of 0ppm.
