Protective functionality is available for preventing MS contamination by automatically switching OFF the LC pump whenever the MS nebulizer gas is switched OFF.
It can be enabled or disabled by following the procedure.
On the [Tools] menu in the [Data Acquisition] window, click [Options] and click the [Gas Control Mode] tab.

 

To disable gas and pump interlock function, clear the [Turn on cooperation Nebulizing Gas and Pump] checkbox.

If the LC unit is operating at a high flowrate, suddenly stopping the pump by interlock function could damage the column. Therefore, the function can be disabled in such cases. Always be careful to avoid interface damage.
