(LCMS) Obtaining Molecular Structural Information in Addition to Molecular Weight Information

Answer
Normally, molecular structures are analyzed using an MS/MS system, but by using in-source CID data acquisition, even a single-quadrupole MS system can provide not only information about molecular weights, but also molecular structures.
« How to Specify the In-Source CID Data Acquisition Setting (for LCMS-2050) »
On the [Instrument Parameter View]-[MS] tab page, select the [Show Advanced Items] checkbox.
A [Qarray (V)] column is displayed on the right side of the event table.
The in-source CID mode can be specified by changing the voltage value in that column.
If unsure about the setting value, an initial setting between 80 and 120 V is recommended.
