Answer

If the indenter lowering position is deviated from the center of the visual field, perform the following procedure:
1. Remove the front cover.

  1) Remove the screw (the right and left two places from the front) under the front cover.
NOTE: The pre-cover falls when the screw in two places is removed.
  2) Draw it out forward while lowering the front cover.
NOTE: Please pull it forward after it lowers below once when the front cover is removed. At this time, note no contact to indenter.
2. Turn the right and left index knobs on the optical head to position these two indexes at the center of the visual field.

3. While observing the visual field using the x50 objective lens, select a part of the sample where no indentation is present.
4. Indent the sample by applying 1961 mN test force.
5. If the indentation image is seen within the visual field but deviated from the center of the visual field, adjust three lens position adjustment screws so that the indentation image can be seen at the center of the visual field.
NOTE: If the indentation image is deviated to the left, loosen the lens position adjustment screw at the right, and tighten the left screw. Note that the actual indentation position is opposite to the image position.

6. If the indentation image is not seen within the visual field:
Adjust the stage with X-axis and Y-axis micrometers, and check the position of the indentation image out of the visual field. You can easily find the position of the indentation image by checking the micrometer scale.
After checking the indentation image position, perform the adjustment procedure described in Step 5.
NOTE: If the indentation image is positioned beyond the adjustable range, contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.
7. Perform the adjustment described in Step 5. or 6. by using the x10 objective lens so that the indentation image is positioned at the center of the visual field. (This step applies only when the optional x10 objective lens is attached.)
8. Mount the front cover.
NOTE: It rises up while touching the interior of the cover from the state lowered below once to the main body when the front cover is obtained and it attaches a cover.
At this time, please note no contact to indenter.
