Answer

This configures the pass/fail criteria for the results of automatic indentation readings.

1. On the main menu, click [File] - [Maintenance] to display the [Maintenance Menu] window. Then click [Judgment Value Setting].
The [Judgment Value Setting] window is displayed.

2. Set the respective values.
Crossing angle of diagonals: This sets the allowable range for angles formed between the two diagonal lines obtained from the four vertices of the indentation detected. The ideal angle for Vickers hardness test indentations is 90º.
Radio of diagonals: This sets the allowable range for the ratio of lengths of the two diagonal lines obtained from the four vertices of the indentation detected. The ideal ratio for Vickers hardness test indentations is 1:1.
Vertical division ratio: This sets the allowable range for the ratio of line segments formed by dividing the vertical diagonal line at the intersection of the two diagonal lines formed from the four vertices of the indentation detected. The ideal ratio for Vickers hardness test indentations is 1:1.
Horizontal division ratio: This sets the allowable range for the ratio of line segments formed by dividing the horizontal diagonal line at the intersection of the two diagonal lines formed from the four vertices of the indentation detected. The ideal ratio for Vickers hardness test indentations is 1:1.
[Save] button: Save the current settings values, and returns to the [Maintenance] window.
[Set Default] button: Returns the judgment constants to their initial values.
3. When the settings are complete, close the [Judgment Value Setting] window and return to the [Maintenance Menu] window.
