1. Sample Creation Procedure

  1) Put the sample liquid between the slide glasses.

 

    

    CAUTION: Never use glass cells with cracks or breakage. It may cause an injury or equipment failure.

  2) Confirm that the light passes through the sample liquid. (You can read a letter 10-15cm away through the sample liquid.)
  3) Install the slide glass to the cell holder, and confirm the absorption on the WingSALDII software. Start measurement if the absorption is smaller than 1.0. (It is better that the absorption is smaller than 0.2.)
  4) If the absorption is larger than 1.0, take steps below;
    • Replace the slide glass with shorter optical length (smaller gap).
    • Dilute the sample liquid.

    NOTE: If the absorption is larger than 1.0, the effect of “multiple scattering” prevents accurate measurement.

 

2. Cell Type
  This product comes with a “Slide Glass with Gap (20μm)” and a “Sample Plate Set (50-500μm)”.

  

 

  • Slide Glass with Gap (20μm)
    Slide glass with gap has a groove of 20 μm in the center part of 1 mm thick slide glass. It is used for measurement of reference sample or sample of 20 μm or less.

    

 

  • Sample Plate Set (50-500μm)
    It is a cell with a circular indentation in the center of the slide glass.
    Useful for medium-concentration samples, extremely expensive samples that can only be used in small quantities, or samples for which only a small amount could be acquired.

    

    The sample plate set (50-500μm) comes with one by one slide glass with various indentations in the table below.
