(EDX) Thickness of plating film thickness measurement

I would like to measure the film thickness of a plating. What is the limit to the thickness measurements?

Answer

The analysis (escape) depth will differ depending on the elements, so it is not easy to specify.
As a guideline:
• Thick films: Several μm to several dozen μm
• Thin films: A few tenths of a nm to several nm
