(EDX) Thickness of powder sample
I am performing an analysis by placing a powdered sample in a sample container. However, there is only a small amount of the sample, so sufficient thickness cannot be obtained. What should I do?
Answer
Use a micro X-cell.
If there is enough sample to extend at least 5mm from the bottom, then the thickness will be sufficient.
If the thickness is less than 5 mm, perform the quantitative calculations using the thin-film FP method.
