I analyzed a sample expected to contain several hundred ppm of Cl(chlorine). Yet Cl was not detected. Why was this?
I used the easy analysis method.

Answer
The ClKα line overlaps with the RhLα line originating from the X-ray tube. As a result, trace quantities of Cl cannot be detected with a easy analysis method.
If a method with the S-K channel addedis used for the analysis, Cl detection will be possible.
