(EDX) Film settings and quantitative values
I performed analysis using a sample container, but I've forgotten the film settings.
Is this a problem with the quantitative values?
Is this a problem with the quantitative values?
Answer
If the sample contains light elements, then there may be problems with the quantitative values.
• The energy of the fluorescent X-rays from the light elements will be very weak, so the intensity will be attenuated to the extent that the absorption by the film cannot be ignored.
• This attenuation must be considered in the quantitative calculations, so film settings must be configured.
• It is also possible to configure the film settings and recalculate the value even after analysis.
