(EDX) Changing and Supplying Oil to the Rotary Pump (When equipped with a vacuum measurement unit)

(EDX) Changing and Supplying Oil to the Rotary Pump (When equipped with a vacuum measurement unit)
Category :

Answer

The rotary pump used as an auxiliary pump for the evacuation system requires oil change every one and a half years*. Without oil change, insufficient vacuum, oil leaks or abnormal noise may occur. Be sure to change oil in good time.
* The interval specified by the pump manufacturer is every 3,000 hours of operation. This is calculated based on operation 8 hours a day, with 20 working days per month.
When changing oil, use the following oil specified in the list of maintenance parts. Use the genuine oil because oil properties must be appropriate for the pump type of use.
• Rotary pump oil Ultragrade19 (1 L) 017-30163-01

Oil change procedure
  • When the instrument is running: Stop the instrument.
  • When the rotary pump is running:
Wait for about 10 minutes after the pump is stopped, and then change the oil.
The rotary pump oil immediately after the stop is hot (room temperature +30°C)
  • When the rotary pump is stopped:
Run the pump for about 10 minutes to warm the oil and turn the switch OFF.
Oil viscosity becomes lower, which facilitates oil drain.
1. Ensure that the rotary pump motor switch is OFF.
2. Unplug one of the oil supply plugs.
3. Prepare a tray or plastic bag to receive oil, and remove the drain plug to drain oil.
NOTE: When the drain plug is removed, oil may splash, so care is required.
4. When oil does not come out of the drain port, close the drain plug.
5. Remove oil supply plugs.
Supply new oil to the level below the "MAX" mark (approx. 0.7 L).
6. Close the oil supply plugs.

7. Turn the rotary pump motor switch ON.
NOTE: The rotary pump requires periodical inspection in addition to oil change. Refer to the instruction manual of the rotary pump.
