(UV) Sipper160 Tube Replacement

(UV) Sipper160 Tube Replacement
Category :

Answer

The tube for the peristaltic pump is a consumable item. The tube life varies depending on chemicals and conditions for sipping.
As a guideline, replace the tube after about 24 hours of total use. Note that the tubes used for peristaltic pump of this Sipper are made of special polyvinyl chloride. Since other tubes such as silicone tube and Tigon tube cannot be used, be sure to use the PVC tubes provided with this Sipper.

1. Prior to the tube replacement, completely purge the liquid inside the tube by repeating air purging sufficient times without suctioning any samples.
2. A new PVC tube previously cut into 105 mm in length.
  Parts Number: 200-54565-02  PVC Tube(ID ø3 x OD ø5)
3. Remove the PTFE tubing from fitting B.
4. Pull fitting B out of the pump head, and with the tube still attached to fitting B, pull the tube through the gap between the pump head and rotor as shown, and turn the rotor clockwise by hand to pull out the tube.
5. If the Shipper160 is not used for a long time (more than a week), it can be left as it is without plastic deformation of the tube.
6. Remove the old tubing from fittings A and B and connect the new tubing to the fitting instead.
7. Fit fitting A into the pump head, then pull the tube by hand and push it between the pump head and rotor, and finally fit fitting B into the pump head.
8. Insert the PTFE tubing into Fitting B, then the tubing replacement is finished.
9. After replacing the tube, turn the rotor counterclockwise a couple of times by hand to make sure the tube is squeezed between the rotor and the pump head.
NOTE: Make sure the pump tube is securely crushed in position C of the pump.
If the tube sticks out in the direction of arrow D, shorten the tube length by about 5 mm, or operate the pump to rotate the rotor in the direction of arrow B and pull fitting B slightly in the direction of arrow A to squeeze the pump tube. Apply tension to the tube, make sure the tube is in position C, and then install fitting B in place.
