(GCMS) RF Temperature Control Error

(GCMS) "Q1 RF heater has stopped" or "Q3 RF heater has stopped" message appears when connectiong to the MS unit or starting an analysis.
Category :

Answer

1. The room temperature might be hight (such as over 40ºC). Check environmental conditions at the installation site.
2. The Q1 or Q3 RF temperature control heater or the control circuit may have failed. Contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.

NOTE: The RF heater shuts OFF if an RF temperature control error occurs. Analysis is still possible in that state, but a shift in the mass axis may occur. To avoid such shifts in the mass axis, perform auto-tuning with RF temperature control switched OFF before acquiring data.
