How to check for ESI Pipe problems (LCMS)

How to check for ESI Pipe  problems (LCMS)
Category :

Answer

As a result of contamination inside the ESI pipe, adsorption of the sample will occur and/or optimum high voltage will become unable to be applied. These phenomena reduce the quantity of ions generated.

«Confirmation»
Blockage of the ESI pipe can be determined by the increase in the pump pressure. If the pressure drops after removing the PEEK tube from the ESI probe, there is a possibility that the ESI pipe is blocked. Note that even when the pump pressure is normal, there might be a problem.

«Corrective Actions»
Replace the ESI capillary. Click here for Maintenance of the ESI Unit.
When securing the ESI pipe, align the tip of the ESI pipe with the tip of the tube. When mounting the ESI capillary on the ESI coupling, tighten it as strong as possible by hand without using any tool.
